Subcritical Thresholds of Glenoid and Humeral Sided Bone Loss Predict Failure after Bankart Repair

چکیده

Glenoid and humeral sided bone loss are both independent risk factors for failure after arthroscopic Bankart repair. The purpose of this study was to determine the combined effect subcritical levels glenoid on 171 individuals with minimum 2 years follow up who underwent primary repair between 2007-2015 were included in study. measured using track model. Cases defined as sustained a subluxation or dislocation event index procedure, while controls did not. Subjects stratified by age (20+ versus < 20 years). Receiver operating curves (ROC) generated threshold that could best predict failure. There 53 cases 118 controls. Increased (p .001) humeral-sided = .013) independently predicted ROC analysis demonstrated values 12% (AUC 0.62) 13 mm 0.60) predictive Combined thresholds 10% 10 successfully outcomes 49/56 (87.5%) over 79/117 (67.5%) under 20. Humeral had an additive older primarily responsible younger individuals. Both accurately failure, particularly These results suggest bipolar lesions may be at higher than previously thought.

Arthroscopic Bristow-Latarjet Combined With Bankart Repair Restores Shoulder Stability in Patients With Glenoid Bone Loss

BACKGROUND Arthroscopic Bankart repair alone cannot restore shoulder stability in patients with glenoid bone loss involving more than 20% of the glenoid surface. Coracoid transposition to prevent recurrent shoulder dislocation according to Bristow-Latarjet is an efficient but controversial procedure. QUESTIONS/PURPOSES We determined whether an arthroscopic Bristow-Latarjet procedure with conc...

Overlap arthroscopic Bankart repair: reconstruction to the glenoid rim.

A new arthroscopic approach for traumatic instability has been developed with which avulsed capsulolabral tissue can be effectively attached to the glenoid articular rim with sutures, providing anatomic reattachment and effective deepening of the glenoid concavity similar to that achieved by open repair. This technique does not depend on fixation devices, trans-scapular drilling, or implantatio...

The Bony Bankart Lesion: How to Measure the Glenoid Bone Loss

An osseous Bankart lesion is commonly seen in patients with an anterior shoulder dislocation. It is defined as a detachment of the anteroinferior labrum associated with a glenoid rim fracture. Radiological studies are crucial not only for detecting glenoid bone defects but also for measuring the amount of bone loss. The precise quantification of the bony defect is crucial for the therapeutic de...

Management of Humeral and Glenoid Bone Loss in Recurrent Glenohumeral Instability

Recurrent shoulder instability and resultant glenoid and humeral head bone loss are not infrequently encountered in the population today, specifically in young, athletic patients. This review on the management of bone loss in recurrent glenohumeral instability discusses the relevant shoulder anatomy that provides stability to the shoulder joint, relevant history and physical examination finding...
